For as long as I can remember, I’ve been in love with TV and movies. Going into high school, my friends and I began making short films. This is when I knew that I wanted to work in the film industry. When I began to preoccupy myself with the framing and lighting, I realized that I would much rather be behind the camera than in front. While working at the South X Southwest music and film festival in my home town of Austin, Texas, I discovered the range of creativity and artistic freedom you can apply in film making.
On the other hand, photography has always been a passion of mine. I love to keep an eye out for unique beauty in nature and everyday objects. To broaden my experience in the field of photography, I began taking professional portrait shots at anime and comic-conventions for a cosplay group. This not only helped me learn about lighting a range of subjects, it developed my understanding of conveying the character in one shot by utilizing set, pose, and light.
I currently study at Columbia College of Chicago, working on a BFA with a focus in cinematography. I have been on a variety of student and independent film sets in the Chicago area.
